CHILDren & their rights

Adee started advocating against war crimes and atrocities in high school in Oman, by fundraising and creating awareness videos. For this, Adee and his colleagues were recognised by the International Korean peace Summit. Adee has since engaged in beach clean-ups and walks for cancer.

Adee works as a Channel Manager for Rajshri Films.

Shwetha is a newly qualified doctor who is passionate about child health and disability and wants to make a change to the approach to these topics. She had the opportunity to work with differently abled children in and outside of an all inclusive school. This and her keen interest to prepare the next generation has kindled the passion to create awareness about disabilities, public health and sexual education amongst them.

Ranchana has completed her Bachelor's in Food Science and Management at MOP Vaishnav College for Women. She completed a year as a Campus Ambassador for CAP in 2017, which was a real eye-opener for her. During her time as a Campus Ambassador, she took initiative and participated in a voluntary experience at a children's home in Chennai. She also leads her college Rotaract Club as the President for the year 2018-2019. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, dancing and singing!

Imogen studied Management specialising in Marketing at the University of Manchester. Following that, she specialised in digital marketing, currently working as a Digital Marketing Manager for a travel company in London. She has always tried to help out and do her bit, which is why when a social media management role came available on the UN Volunteer website, she jumped at the opportunity to apply and thankfully got offered the role

Micah, a year 12 student in Prague, Czech Republic, is an aspiring engineer, trying to broaden his horizons by enrolling in a variety of activities, services and arts before attending university in two year’s time. He strives to make a positive difference in the world, no matter what form that change might take. He has found online volunteering to be a gratifying alternative in a time where such social interaction is ill-advised. He also loves music and playing the electric bass for his school, and is trying to learn more guitar and piano.

Shriya is a biomedical sciences student who is passionate about providing equal opportunities for all demographics of people. A world where healthcare and quality education are accessible to everyone is her dream, and she hopes CAP will help her in making a positive impact.

Coming from a creative background, Hanna has a passion to promote equal work and education opportunities for disadvantaged young people. With an interest in everything fitness, nutritional cooking and creative design, she wishes to use CAP as a platform for meaningful research on a global scale.

An engineering student who loves teaching, hiking, and dogs, Akshatha leads ACM-W, Girlscript, and other communities mentoring women and teaching computer science. She is pursuing a career in robotics research and wishes to build tools to accelerate meaningful change.

A high school student keen on becoming a biomedical scientist, Akshita has a passion for research and education. Knowledge is power, and she believes that through social media, awareness about topics like mental and physical health and gender inequality can improve society and better its progress. Apart from advocating for children’s rights, Akshita is also the Co-Founder of Hygiene Drive, a non-profit based in Chennai, India that is intent on ameliorating hygiene poverty.

Himani is a recent law graduate. She is interested in international and immigration law issues as they pertain to children’s rights. Through the Davis Program, she implemented a project called Rags to Riches which provided supplies to recycling workers and organized recycling workshops for grade school students. She is passionate about bridging needs with resources like informational toolkits.

As a 12th grader and aspiring public health major with a passion for writing, Nethra’s goal is to create a positive impact on society. She has worked with OnlyPlanet - an organisation dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint - and currently oversees user engagement. She has also helped spread awareness on gender inequality through the dance-theatre production, Sakiye Rowthiram Pazhagu.

Alice is a marketing student who is passionate about social causes and sustainability. She believes what matters the most in life is that, no matter the circumstances, people put their hearts and humanity in everything they do. As a never-ending learner, she loves reading and all kinds of art.

Maria is an architect passionate about all types of design. Interested in getting involved as a volunteer in organizations like CAP, she hopes to generate meaningful contributions and sustain positive change in the world. She is also a lover of books and TV shows, with a passion for dancing.

Gracia is a high school senior who wants to contribute her sand grain from afar, for a world in which all children get to have an integral development. Gracia works with children at her church and is deeply inspired by CAP's cause. She hopes to become an impactful educator in the future.

Tharika is a final-year Marketing and Management student who loves to volunteer and work towards breaking social inequalities. She believes volunteering at CAP gives her the chance to not only create a safer society, but also inspire a few along the way to strive for a more equal world. In her spare time, she likes to illustrate, read and cook.
